Moving away has really helped me find my own community, because I love meeting new people from all kinds of backgrounds. It wasn’t until Jane moved away from home that she found a community she could call her own, and it was here at ANU.

Fiona graduated from ANU in 2011 and is currently completing her PhD in pure mathematics at Oxford University.

Exploring diverse opportunities at ANU

I chose the ANU summer research programme as an opportunity to undertake a real research project and also be part of social programme.

Making the move to ANU from Sydney, has helped Alex Keen find his own pathway to a career in medicine.  

I have studied fossils in South Australia, groundwater in the Lower Murrumbidgee and infiltration rates at Lake George

I would say definitely take the opportunity. Definitely apply, if you get in take it because it’s kind of a once in a lifetime opportunity to really be in that environment
