Moving away has really helped me find my own community, because I love meeting new people from all kinds of backgrounds.

It wasn’t until Jane moved away from home that she found a community she could call her own, and it was here at ANU.

“I grew up in New Zealand and moved to Australia and ANU for the experience of living away from home,” she says.

“Moving away has really helped me find my own community, because I love meeting new people from all kinds of backgrounds. If I’m not studying, I’m probably talking.”

Jane is in her third year of a double degree in Science and Engineering. Her passion for the environment has led her to undertake a sustainability major with Fenner School of Environment & Society.

“I have a strong concern for the environment, and ANU has given me a number of opportunities to explore our relationship with it. Even living on campus I can see first-hand how our actions influence the environment on a local university scale.”

To find out more and what it's like to make the move, come and meet Jane at one of our information sessions in Wellington and Auckland.
