Arriving just in time for the excitement of National Science Week, our STEM Boxes are an incredible gift of knowledge! These free resources are tailored for students from years 7 to 12, offering a hands-on journey into the fascinating world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Each box contains a range of experiments and materials designed to enhance classroom learning or inspire independent exploration. More than just tools, these boxes are a passport to discovery, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Discover and learn with the ANU STEM Boxes — your key to an exciting and dynamic learning experience!

This year's box contains materials for the following experiments/activities:

  • Aperture, the camera eye

What will each box contain?

Each box includes all the materials for 10-15 experiments in various subjects like environmental science, biology, chemistry, mathematics, astronomy, physics, earth science, health and medicine, psychology, computing, and engineering.

For activities needing materials with a short shelf life, kindly source those on your own as we can't mail them. Rest assured, the activities are selected with easily accessible household items in mind.

The digital instructions for the experiments will be available to download and view on this site from July.

When will you receive your STEM box?

We aim to post the boxes to you in early July so you have enough time to prepare your activities for the National Science Week 10th – 18th August 2024.

Who will be eligible to receive a box?

You need to be teaching at a school for years 7-12 students.

How many boxes can you order?

1 box per teacher

The request for extra boxes will be considered for schools in Rural/Regional/Remote areas, all-girls’ schools and schools situated in low-SES communities. Please notify us via email at after you completed the registration so your order can be updated manually from our end if it’s approved.

What happens after you register?

There is nothing required from your side, the boxes will be given on a first-come, first-served basis so your order will be accepted automatically after your registration unless otherwise we contact you.

You will be notified by email on further updates.
