Kaitlin Cook comes from the outskirts of Perth in Western Australia and is a Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) student specialising in astronomy. "I think I always knew I wanted to do something in either physics or astronomy. I chose ANU because it’s one of the best universities in Australia especially in its research program. The existence of the PhB program was invaluable to me because it gave me an opportunity to undertake research projects during my undergraduate degree.

Jaime Martin from Wagga Wagga is completing a Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) in biology and chemistry. "Biology and chemistry were the subjects that I liked best at high school and college. Studying those subjects never seemed like a chore to me because they’re areas I’m really interested in. I chose ANU because it has a really good reputation and the PhB program was a unique opportunity to get involved in things like research years earlier than I would have been able to do elsewhere. I also liked the idea of coming to work in a place with so many leading researchers."
