About

A member of and principal adviser to the College Executive, the General Manager leads professional staff services encompassing: financial management; human resources; student services; research development and administration; marketing; communications and outreach; international strategy and partnerships; and alumni relations and philanthropy.

Before joining the CoS Executive as Interim General Manager in 2023, Kate has been managing Schools at ANU since 2010: the Fenner School of Environment & Society, the School of Music, and the Joint Schools of History & Philosophy, acting as a champion for cultural and process change. Previously she worked at The University of Melbourne in both the School of Graduate Studies and in the International Admissions Office.

Kate has a background in both Music and Applied Linguistics, having graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music majoring in harpsichord (1988). She later gained both Masters (1997) and PhD (2001) in Applied Linguistics from The University of Melbourne.

In 2012 she was profiled in the ANU Gender Institute's publication, ANU Inspiring Women.
