Talking mental health with Lauren Du Fall

Summary

Dr Lauren DuFall from the ARC Training Centre for Future Crops Development discusses strategies she uses to nurture her mental health and wellbeing.

Talking about how you manage your own mental health and wellbeing can feel daunting, and it’s something we all put on the backburner. But instead of shying away from these conversations, staff at the ANU College of Science are sharing what methods work for them.

Lauren says that using the skills she knows that she is good at helps with her mental health. Being organised and fostering community have both really assisted her. Lauren has struggled with sticking to things like meditation but has found that being outside in nature gives her the same effect as meditation does. She also uses simple grounding exercises to help when struggling.
