The next round of global climate change negotiations is being held in Egypt from now to 18 November. The 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP 27, brings together more than 2000 speakers from around the world, with a focus on a collective path towards sustainability and climate action. The conference is structured around a series of themed days ranging from decarbonisation to adaptation and agriculture to youth and future generations.

What will be the key takeaways from COP27? What are the implications for Australia, First Nations Communities and Pacific Island nations? And what future actions are needed to ensure nations around the world prioritise global commitments to climate action?

Join us for a post-COP27 panel event to hear leading experts and emerging First Nations and Pacific Island leaders, including those who attended COP27 in person, discuss these questions and more.

Speakers include:

• Professor Stephen Bygrave, Honorary Professor, Institute for Climate, Energy & Disaster Solutions, The Australian National University
• Brianna Gordon, PhD Candidate, ANU Fenner School of Environment and Society, The Australian National University.
• Salā Dr George Carter, Research Fellow, Department of Pacific Affairs, The Australian National University.

The panel will be moderated by Mahealani Delaney, ANU Master of Environmental Management and Development student and ANU Institute for Climate, Energy & Disaster Solutions.
