Title: Essential Dimension of Linked Pairs of Cyclic Algebras
Abstract: Cernele and Reichstein proved that the essential dimension of linked pairs of quaternion algebras over fields of characteristic not 2 is 3. We complete the picture in the characteristic 2 case and extend the result to any pair of linked cyclic algebras of degree p over a field of characteristic p.

Talk title and abstract submissions
We welcome submissions from all participants. The conference has a proud tradition of encouraging talks by students: typically about one-third of the talks are presented by students. The conference aims to provide graduate students in algebra with the opportunity to give their first public presentation in a relaxed and supportive environment. Each conference, the most outstanding student talk is awarded the Gordon Preston Prize. To submit a title and abstract for consideration, please use the link below.
