ANU has over 110 clubs, offering unique educational, sporting, cultural and social opportunities to members.

There are many associations specific to science students listed below, or browse the full list of ANU clubs.

ANUSA

The ANU Students’ Association or ‘ANUSA’ is the peak representative body for all students at ANU. If you’re an ANU student then you’re automatically a member of ANUSA.

ANU Mathematics Society

The ANU Mathematics Society is an association for maths students, and anyone with an interest in mathematics. They organise social activities, seminars and other activities for students to get together and discuss mathematics in a relaxed atmosphere.

ANU Solar Racing

ANU Solar Racing is the Australian National University’s official solar racing team. They are a 100% student-run team that designs and builds solar powered cars to compete in the biennial Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (BWSC).

ANU Women* in STEM Society

A society for female, femme-aligned and non-binary ANU undergraduate STEM students.

Astronomy Society

The ANU Astronomy Society is a student-run society at the Australian National University dedicated to astronomy. They regularly run social and academic events to bring together students passionate about astronomy and expose them to academic, research and industry opportunities. 

Biology Student's Society

The ANU biology society fosters a sense of community and provides networking opportunities for biology students, advises science students about studying biology at ANU, and promotes good ties with the Research School of Biology. They run BBQs, study sessions, games' nights, public lectures and more throughout the year including an annual ball.

Chemistry Society

A society for those who study chemistry or have a passion for chemistry. Each year they host ChemBall and other social events including BBQs, career nights, mixers and coffee catch ups.

Earth and Marine Sciences Society

The ANU Earth & Marine Sciences Society is run by students, for students interested in Earth and Marine sciences.

Fenner School Society

The Fenner School Society (FSS) is run by students of the Fenner School of Environment and Society for all ANU students. Their primary aim is to encourage a sense of community within the school and wider ANU campus. FSS social events are fun and a great way to meet new people, and the field trips provide this also, along with an opportunity to gain practical experience and further our education. 

Fifty50

Fifty50 is a student-led organisation which promotes gender equity in science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) within the ANU.

Physics Society

The ANU Physics Society is a society run by students of the ANU dedicated to all things physics related and run regular academic and social events.

Rocketry Appreciation Society

A society for ANU students to appreciate rockets.

Science Communication Society

The ANU Science Communication Society is a student society dedicated to bringing together people from all across the university, from all the various disciplines of science and from the non-science fields to discuss and communicate the intersection of science with the rest of the world. They host academic events across the year including lectures, presentations, science shows and even a careers night - also social events like pizza-movie nights, BBQs and a big end-of-year party.
 

Science Society

The Science Society is the largest group at the ANU for undergraduate students in STEM, including chemistry, biology, mathematics, computer science, engineering, environmental science, psychology, science communication, health, & medicine.

They run academic talks, scientific skills workshops, mentorship events, careers nights, social mixers, and more.  They also organise exciting activities during National Science Week.
