The Master of Science (MSc) in Quantitative Biology and Bioinformatics is your opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge for working with biological data in consultancy, research and policy roles.
You will develop the ability to organise and analyse information from genes, cells, protein interactions, health records and other kinds of biological data, statistically, mathematically and computationally.

At the ANU Research School of Biology, research scientists specialise in methods and tools for analysing biological data. You will work closely with the School’s scientists, and be provided with the practical experience and theoretical knowledge to develop your skills, including the use of advanced computer technology and labs.
Master of Science in Quantitative Biology & Bioinformatics
The Master of Science in Quantitative Biology and Bioinformatics is a two program for those with a special interest in worlds of Mathematics, Computer Science, Biology and Statistics and how these disciplines powerfully combine.

The Advanced program incorporates a research project supervised by an academic, and is a gateway to further research, such as a PhD. Students will develop work on an original research project that guilds on, and applies, their knowledge of quantitative biological data.
Allen is a computational evolutionary biologist with interests in phylogenetic reconstruction, statistical bioinformatics and evolutionary modelling.

If you graduated from an Australian university, UAC will be able to access your results in most cases. However, you may be asked to provide transcripts or other documentation, so it is a good idea to prepare your records just in case.
You can still apply before you complete your Bachelor Degree if you are in your final year, and you must advise UAC in your application. You may need to provide a copy of your academic transcript directly to UAC as soon as you complete your degree. UAC will provide instructions during the application process.
There are three assessment rounds in each semester. Applying in the first round will give you three opportunities to be assessed and accepted, giving you the best chance of being offered a place at ANU.
