Up and atom with science!

Take Emlyn Graham for example. He’s studying BSc and will be doing his Honours year in 2019 with research in nuclear physics. Paired with a Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences, he enjoys the puzzle-like nature of how physics fit into mathematical constructs. Kind of like the Rubik’s Cube of study programs.

ANU was written in the stars

First year student, Tegan Clark, came to ANU because of the strong research in astronomy and astrophysics here. Driven by a curious fascination with space, she sees herself continuing far into the future with scientific research in astrophysics. Maybe we’ve got the next Brian Schmidt in our midst.

Physics + Maths = Grad job in finance

Anthony Ricci graduates this year with a Bachelor of Science AND a Bachelor of Finance. Technology-driven trading firm, IMC, hired him as a graduate because of his Physics and Maths background, not his finance studies. Anthony says the maths and quantitative skills that you’ve built up through schooling and university is a valuable learned skill and we could all benefit from doing some more maths.

Hooked on learning and reeled back into ANU

Sai Lyons is a recent BSc graduate majoring in Human Biology and minoring in Biological Anthropology. She’s now studying online for a Master of Public Health. Sai found what interests her and is now running with it. Who says one degree is ever enough? Read more about Sai’s passion for learning at ANU.

Talk sciencey to me

Meet Brody Hannan, another BSc student with a passion for Science Communication. Next year is his Honours year where he will be looking at ways that industry and universities can better collaborate on their research. Brody is also a great example of someone who has taken advantage of the many opportunities available to him at ANU. Read about his experience on our student blog.

Five students. Same degree. Different interests and career paths. Where could the Bachelor of Science take you? We challenge you to take a spin on the career wheel and find an interest that isn’t covered by the Bachelor of Science. Go on, give it a go.
