Treating a patient’s immediate needs is one thing, but what about the big picture? How can we maximise medical practice by understanding the complex workings of their society?  As a public health researcher, Dr Kamalini Lokuge draws on her experience in the field to better understand this bigger picture. Through Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), Dr Lokuge has participated in deployments that include Afghanistan, Sudan and Uganda. In this video she discusses how she came to the field of public health.
