Matthew Spence and Vanessa Vongsouthi stand behind a sheet of PET plastic film, the breakdown target of their PETase enzyme.

This event is in association with the Uncharted Territory program an ACT Government initiative.

Join us for an intimate Fireside Chat with the founders of a local eviro-tech start-up.

Matt Spence and Vanessa Vongsouthi will share insights into their journey from PhD to founders of local start-up Samsara Eco, who are delivering climate repair through infinite plastic recycling. This event will be a relaxed, casual conversation with the audience.

After the event, you can head upstairs for a panel discussion titled Starting Up and Spinning Out: Taking Smart Ideas to Market followed by networking over nibbles. Note that the panel event is separately ticketed and registrations can be made here.

Canberra-based enviro-tech start-up Samsara Eco is partners with Australian National University, Woolworths Group and Main Sequence and has raised over $54 million to build a commercial facility for plastic recycling. They recently announced a partnership with Lululemon to create infinitely recyclable textiles.
