As part of the College of Science Diverse and Equitable Hiring and Workforce Development plans (pdf, 292KB), we are trialling a range of Leadership development programs. The mid-term objective is to be able to offer many of our staff members support to participate in programs that exactly meet their individual needs.

In 2023, we trialed the Leading Edge program from Women & Leadership Australia.
In 2024, we are able to support two CoS staff members to participate in the RISE (Realise. Inspire. Support. Energise) leadership program, organised at ANU by CECC.

Who can apply?

Women from culturally and racially marginalised (CARM) backgrounds, this includes cis women, trans women, as well as non-binary and/or gender diverse people who identify as CARM women. The program is aimed at CARM women in "middle management" positions, but applications from academic and professional staff at any level will be considered.

What does participation involve?

Diversity Council Australia training (3 virtual modules - 5.5 hours total), Settlement Services International workshop (1 day face to face training at CECC), Career Advancement Plan and activities through a tailored support model and flexible coaching, mentoring and peer networking sessions over 12-18 months.

How to apply?

Please send a CV and a short statement (half a page) about why you are interested in this program to the Associate Dean IDEA (pierre.portal@anu.edu.au) by Friday 12 April, noting that participation will involve attending an introduction session on Thursday 18 April (11am-12:30pm).
