About
I am a PhD student within the Geochemistry Group at RSES. My research centres around on the geology of Rare Earth Element deposits, with a particular focus on the carbonatite, peralkaline silicate and IOCG systems of Australia. I use a combination of field techniques (core logging, geological mapping, geophysical surveying etc.) and lab-based analytical methods (optical microscopy, SEM, EPMA, LA-ICP-MS, QEMSCAN, bulk rock isotopes and chemistry etc.) to address the aims of determining how these geological phenomena form, how we can predict where else they may form, and how best to extract the targeted ore metals efficiently and safely.
I have worked extensively within the exploration and mining industry, and am passionate about the integration and application of academic research within the Australian and global mining industry to more effectively find the next big critical metal deposits required for our future.
