Dear HDR students,

The College of Science and Medicine (CoSM) IDEA Committee is seeking an HDR student representative to join its committee for 2026–2027.

The IDEA Committee brings together IDEA leads from across CoSM Schools to coordinate inclusion, diversity, equity, and access initiatives at the college level. The student representative provides an HDR perspective in committee discussions and helps ensure the student voice informs college-wide IDEA priorities.

About the role

The representative will:

• Attend quarterly CoSM IDEA Committee meetings (in person, approximately 90 minutes, held on Thursdays at 1:00 pm)
• Contribute an HDR student perspective to discussions on IDEA initiatives, policies, and programs
• Help channel student views and experiences into college-level planning
• Engage with the broader HDR student community for information gathering and sharing 

This is a voluntary role. The time commitment is approximately four meetings per year, plus occasional email correspondence, as well as ad-hoc IDEA-related workshops and working groups to the best of your ability.

We welcome expressions of interest from any CoSM HDR student who:

• Has an interest in inclusion, diversity, equity, and/or access in higher education
• Is able to commit to attending quarterly meetings for the remainder of 2026 and into 2027
• Is willing to engage with their broader HDR cohort to gather and represent student perspectives
