On-campus testing day information

Optiver are holding information sessions right on-campus and they’re keen to meet you! Come along to meet them, check out what it’s like to work there and find out where you could fit in. You’ll also get the chance to kick-start the testing process with them.

Optiver is a trading firm with a difference. They are a market-maker who takes their people and technology seriously. Optiver Trading and IT teams work together as the right and left hand of the business and it is this level of integration that keeps their traders at the top of their game. They are seeking the best and brightest minds to join their team. They're on the hunt for passionate IT, engineering, computer science, actuarial studies, maths and science students to join their team. Optiver are seeking game changers – the kind of people who have curious and inquisitive minds, a passion to succeed and are looking to leave their mark.

Intern trader testing

Optiver will be running 2 numerical tests. The first test is an 8 minute, 80 question maths test, focusing on basic mental arithmetic. The second test is a 30 minute maths test focusing on number series and sequences. They are assessing your speed and accuracy so you won’t be allowed to use a calculator. To be eligible for this opportunity Optiver will be looking for students with a distinction average in computer science, electrical/mechanical/mechatronic engineering, maths, statistics, physics, actuarial studies or econometrics.

Graduate / intern developer & trading systems engineer testing

Optiver will collect your details on the day and will email you a link to their online technical test. This test will take up to 90 minutes to complete at your own convenience. To be eligible for this opportunity Optiver will be looking for students with a distinction average in computer science, computing and software engineering or similar. Those who are interested in applying to be a trading system engineer will be digging deeper into technology and are able to work across all of Optiver's technical trading systems.

Please note

Please be on time or you might miss out! You’ll only get one chance to complete our testing, so make sure you give it your best shot! Internship Opportunities are open to penultimate year students only graduating mid-end of 2017. You need to be an Australian/New Zealand Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident to apply.
