Always look at the bright side of plants
Join us to discover the unique signature of plants, extract some plant DNA, and see photosynthesis in action. Don’t simply believe that plants produce oxygen and transform light into food; see it with your own eyes!
The Australian Research Council Centres of Excellence for Translational Photosynthesis and Plant Energy Biology have joint efforts to show why they find plant’s research so fascinating. Are you keen on breathing and eating? It is time to celebrate the organisms that make these two processes possible: plants.
Visitors will be able to ask questions to a plant scientist and learn some amazing facts about plants and their importance in people’s lives.
We will have hands-on activities and displays showing photosynthesis in action, the use of fluorescence in photosynthesis research, photosynthesis evolution and DNA extraction.
This event is free and is open each day from 9:30am - 4:30pm each day. For more information visit photosynthesis.org.au and scienceweek.net.au
