2018 National Indigenous Summer School

Tjabal Indigenous Higher Education Centre and the ANU Science and Engineering Colleges will host a Summer School for Indigenous students in years 10 and 11 from across Australia, who have an interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects and careers.

This week-long Summer School will run from the 8th to the 15th of December this year to provide learning experiences to help inform education and career aspirations and goals. Students will participate in a program of hands-on activities from a range of discipline fields on the theme of 'Global Challenges: People, Places and Communities '.

Expert academic staff, Indigenous university students and staff, will mentor participants through a fun-filled program in the nation's capital, which promises rewarding experiences on and off campus.  All accommodation, transport, catering and workshop materials are covered by the Tjabal Centre and ANU Science and Engineering Colleges.

To be considered for one of the 20 places at the Summer School, you need to be:

  • A current Year 10 or 11 student in Australia
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Interested in science, technology, engineering and or mathematics
