Summer Research Scholarships

Summer Research Scholarships

Gain research experience alongside world-leading scientists.

The Summer Research Scholarship program gives undergraduate students the opportunity to gain an insight into studying Honours or a postgraduate research degree (PhD or MPhil). The program runs for seven or eight weeks, from Monday 20 November 2017 – Friday 19 January 2018.  Please see individual Research School for details.

The scholarship includes:

  • full board on campus
  • a weekly allowance
  • return travel to Canberra
  • an opportunity to undertake a short research project on an approved topic.

  • Open 1 August 2017
  • Closes 31 August 2017

The internship program is for ANU students only and is similar to the scholarship program but with variation to the funding provided to recipients. An intern has access to the summer research scholar community activities and events, workshops and the University support services and will receive a certificate of recognition at the completion of the program.

The cost for campus accommodation is generally not covered for interns though interns are offered the same weekly living allowance as scholarship holders only with limited or no funding towards travel. Offers are made subject to the availability of funding and appropriate supervision and the internship conditions may vary at the discretion of individual Colleges or academic areas.

  • Undergraduate students in their third or final year of their degree or Honours students, and currently enrolled at an Australian or New Zealand university.

Your application will be considered for either scholarship or an internship. No additional application is required for an internship.
