Science Communication

The world today is facing an ever-increasing need for scientific, medical and technological information, on issues from climate change and genetic modification to science policy and innovation. Science Communication courses give you the skills to communicate scientific information to diverse audiences in a variety of ways. Such skills broaden your employment opportunities and give you increased choice and flexibility. Professional science communicators work in the media, in science centres and in scientific, industrial and environmental organisations. Research in science communication leads to a better understanding of how to bridge the gap between science and the people who want to understand it or need to use it.

Centre for the Public Awareness of Science
CPAS is the world’s most diverse academic science communication centre. We train a new generation of highly qualified scientists to become skilled communicators who can engage people with the science, technology, or medical information that is most relevant to them. Our postgraduate students are researching new ways to excite the imagination of the public about science and to encourage informed decisions about scientific issues that will concern us in the 21st century.
