Chemistry

Chemistry and the manipulation of chemicals is one of the most useful areas of knowledge humans have ever developed, providing everything from fuels to medicine. Chemistry is central to the design and manufacture of pharmaceuticals and, more than ever, advanced drugs and drug delivery systems require detailed knowledge of chemistry. The development of polymer products such as plastics and adhesives was made possible by a thorough understanding of the underlying chemistry. Today, these materials are more advanced than ever and research continues to explore the possibilities which chain molecules offer. We study natural and artificial photosynthesis processes which are especially important, as this is the way all food on Earth is created.
