Professor Richard Brent awarded Moyal Medal

Professor Richard Brent from the Mathematical Sciences Institute has been awarded the Macquarie University Moyal Medal for research contributions to mathematics, physics or statistics.

The Moyal Medal is awarded annually in the areas of research of the late Professor José Enrique Moyal who was Professor of Mathematics at Macquarie University for five years from 1973 to 1977.

Professor Brent presented his Moyal Medal Lecture: Needles, haystacks and optimal designs on Wednesday the 15th October at Macquarie University.

Previous Moyal Medal recipients, include Professor Joe Gani, Professor Alan McIntosh and Professor Alan Carey.
