ANU Plant Science Scholarship

There will be one scholarship available for students who have taken subjects or have life experience relevant to the study of Plant Science in their schooling. Preference may be given to students from rural and regional areas. Application process will be competitive and include an evaluation of ATAR, as well as a short essay on why you are interested in plant science.
Value
$6,500 per annum.
Duration
May be for a maximum of 8 normally consecutive academic semesters.
Retention
Scholars must maintain a minimum of a Distinction (70 per cent) average each semester.
Requirements: To be eligible, you must:
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or hold an Australian permanent resident visa
- have taken subjects or have life experience relevant to the study of Plant Science
- be an immediate school leaver, or have taken a gap year and not enrolled in any tertiary program during that time
You may also be eligible if you have completed one or two semesters of an academic program either at ANU or another institution having taken relevant courses to Plant Sciences.

ANU Enterprise Chemistry Scholarships

Two scholarships, valued at $1,200 and $800, are available to be awarded each year on academic merit to the students who:
- achieved the second and third best results in first year Chemistry,
- undertake twelve second year units of Chemistry,
- and are enrolled in a program leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science.
Requirements: 2nd or 3rd place in First Year Chemistry at ANU. |

ANU Environment Scholarship

A number of scholarships will be available in 2010 for undergraduate students from outside of Canberra and the Australian Capital Territory region who enrol in an environment-related program.
Eligible programs are:
- Bachelor of Science
- Bachelor of Science (Advanced)
- Bachelor of Science (Resource and Environmental Management
- Bachelor of Science (Forestry)
- Bachelor Interdisciplinary Studies (Sustainability)
- Bachelor Interdisciplinary Studies (Sustainability) Honours
- Bachelor of Philosophy; and associated joint programs.

- be an immediate school leaver, or have taken a gap year and not enrolled in any tertiary program during that time,
- be intending to enrol in one of the specified programs,
- be intending to complete at least one environment-related major,
- achieve an ATAR of at least 95, or equivalent.

Students beginning an undergraduate degree in Forestry (single or joint degree) are eligible for a scholarship drawn from the Anthony and Barbara Brookman Forestry Education and Research Fund.
Requirements: Eligible students must be enrolled in the first year of the Bachelor of Science (Forestry) having not previously been enrolled in a tertiary program; or had previously been enrolled in a different academic program and will be transferring in to the Bachelor of Science (Forestry).

FWPA Indigenous Forestry Scholarship

The Forest and Wood Products Australia (FWPA) has established an undergraduate scholarship in support of the Council of Australian Governments‚ (COAG) framework to advance indigenous reconciliation.
The scholarship will fund an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student to complete an undergraduate course leading to a degree in forestry at an Australian university.
The scholarship will cover Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS) fees for the duration of the course.
Requirements: The applicant must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander origin. The scholarship is only available for students who have been accepted to study at an Australian university offering a degree course in forestry, commencing in the 2010 academic year. |

Gottstein Forestry Industry Scholarship
$5,000 per annum for up to three years

The J. W. Gottstein Memorial Trust is pleased to announce the introduction of Gottstein Forest Industry Scholarships for undergraduate or postgraduate students undertaking degree or diploma courses in forestry, forest science or wood science.
The Trust will determine the award based on criteria such as commitment to the fields of forestry or the forest products industry through academic and professional achievements and career goals.
Requirements: The criteria may vary, but will remain consistent with its key principle to promote the development of the Australian forestry and forest products industry. Applicants for scholarships should familiarise themselves with and address this principle in their applications. Before scholarships are awarded, applicants are required to demonstrate satisfactory progress in, or for new students acceptance to, their respective courses.
