My thesis investigates inorganic stereochemistry and asymmetric synthesis of chiral arsenic compounds.
What experience have you gained while studying at RSC?
I have gained invaluable communication skills through public speaking and teaching. I have also learned practical laboratory and research knowledge.

That I can persevere when things don’t work out the way I had hoped.
What do you see yourself doing upon completion of the program?
I think I will probably hang my lab coat up for good when I am finished, ideally I would like to get a job in Science Communication, but I’ll work it out a bit closer to the time.
What has been the most enjoyable experience during your studies at RSC?
It was great meeting Professor Schrock and some of the other visitng academics. In July 2008, I attended a conference in France, which was a wonderful experience!
Why would you recommend this program to others?
Yes, and it is a great place to do it.
Benefits of being at ANU / life in Canberra?
The biggest benefit to me is my supervisor and mentor Bruce Wild. The RSC also has many other advantages such as scholarships and travel opportunities, excellent facilities and services, as well as good people from all over the world to have beers with after work.
