What is your thesis topic / field of interest?
I am working on the structural characteristics and ligand binding of a medically relevant, human protein. This principally involves protein crystallography experiments.

What experience have you gained while studying at RSC?
The planning and execution of experiments, training in the use of specialised equipment including in-house X-ray generators/detectors and a synchotron and how to use specialised software in order to solve crystal structures.

What have you learnt about yourself during your time here?

That I can learn/achieve basically anything I apply myself to, the best part about being a research student here is the confidence I have gained in my own abilities.

What do you see yourself doing upon completion of the program?
Medical research in the field of structural biology.

What has been the most enjoyable experience during your studies at RSC?
Just coming to work everyday surrounded by friendly, helpful people is pretty ace. So is the bar every Friday :)
