Enthusiastic students and staff from ANU will show you the universe through a telescope, challenge your eyes with an optical surprise, tantalise your taste buds with freshly made ice-cream (made by you) and chat with you about what it is like to study science.
Visual Science
Try out some hands-on activities and demonstrations such as 3-dimensional eye models, light boxes, colour blindness tests, goggles that simulate visual disorders, optical illusions, and eye test charts.
The Black Hole Society look at Astronomy
See and look through their special telescope that looks beyond our Earth and causes us to wonder. What wonderful mysteries lie outside our Earth and how can we find out about them? Here is your opportunity to chat with the experts.
An Optical Surprise to Tantalise the Senses
Staff from Physics have lots of surprises to interest, amaze and blow you away.
Chocolate Icecream and Chemistry -What Do They Have in Common
Chemisty is part of everything we do. This fun filled and wonderfully tasting activity by chemists from the ANU will have you asking for more. Can you make icecream without a refrigerator? Of course. Come and find out how.
Science Ambassadors
Current ANU students tell all about what life as a student entails. The transition from school to University is an exciting time of massive change. If you have any questions, ask the students who have ‘been there and done that’. This is a wonderful opportunity to chat.
