Marine Science at ANU

The Australian National University provides unique opportunities in marine science education and research.

Marine ecosystems play a central role in the health and function of our planet. Given the increasing exploitation and modification by man, there is an urgent need for us to study and understand marine systems if management strategies are to succeed.

Such study requires a multifaceted approach, drawing from diverse fields of physical and biological science. Scientists at the Australian National University are well placed to meet this challenge, as our unique brand of marine research and teaching has developed from interdisciplinary collaboration among staff from across the university, resulting in courses and postgraduate research projects in marine biology, chemistry, geology and physics.
