Language and psychopathology

Clinical psychology including language and psychopathology; emotion regulation; anxiety disorders. Broadly, my main research interest is in the relationship between language and psychopathology. For example, I have recently examined and contrasted how emotions are represented linguistically in adolescents with depression, anxiety and behavioural disorders, and I am currently investigating how language is used to provide distance from distressful emotions. In addition, I am also interested in continuing clinical and intervention research into Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, other anxiety disorders and eating disorders and also in the measurement of change in psychological interventions.
